The word “Genesis” means origin, beginning, or creation. It carries the concept of being new. The word “church” refers to the assembly of those who have been redeemed by Christ. In short, Genesis Church refers to a group of people who found a new beginning in Christ. A key passage of Scripture for us is 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (NLT).
