What should I wear?

Most people wear casual to business casual clothes. Occasionally, you may find a suit and a nice dress in the crowd. The bottom line, be modest and wear what you are comfortable in. The issue is not what’s on the outside, but on the inside.

What about my kids?

At Genesis Church, our top priorities for children are safety, security, care, learning, and having fun! We provide caring, secure environments for kids of all ages. GenKids has nursery and preschool ministries from birth to five years old, and an elementary ministry from kindergarten to 5th grade. No matter what age your kids are, they will be safely checked in and out to kids’ leaders that have been checked and trained in safety! They will also all get the opportunity to hear about Christ on their levels! If you’ve got questions about GenKids, let us know!

Will I get singled out?

Nope. It can sometimes be an uncomfortable experience when you visit a church for the first time, and we want to make you feel welcome. While we won’t single you out, ask you to stand, or do anything special, we will try to make you feel at home! Before or after the service go to our Welcome Center to pick up an information packet and a gift from Genesis Church.

What is the service like?

It’s going to last about an hour. During that time we’ll sing songs, pray, read the Bible, and listen to God’s Word being taught. Most people want to know the music style: even though our music style is more modern we sing and play old and new, well-known and some that aren’t so well-known.

What if I can't make it?

Genesis Church believes that followers of Christ should be an active part of a local church. We also understand that schedules often make it difficult to be in a church each week. So, we use our live stream to make sure that anyone can chat with us, take notes online, and watch along during our service. You can check out our live stream here at 10:00 am on Sunday mornings, or any previous worship service here at any time!

Where are you located?

We meet at the Mexico, Missouri YMCA. It is located at 1127 Adams Street, Mexico, MO. You can take a look at the map here! As we are a new church, sometimes we have to relocate for a Sunday due to events at the YMCA. If that happens, we will make sure you see it on our homepage and Facebook page. Also, you can sign up for our newsletter to get alerts here.
